PHILOS means “beloved or dear.” I made this piece for my beloved! Meet PHIL!
So the true story is we named that awesome fish sculpture Phil after the owner of the charming shop we found him in! My beloved, Mike, said “Why don’t you paint the highboy to go with PHIL?” and I did! The things we do for those we love! But aren’t we blessed to have others to love and who love us? Sometimes, we get so caught up in this rat race called life, we forget how fortunate we are! Who do you love with all your being? Have you told them lately, “I love you?” Start today and every day!
After saging* PHIL, I painted him a pale yellow as a base coat. I followed with using green and yellow side-by-side on my palette, moving the colors together and then blending. I followed with a copper patina to make PHIL shine and finished with a clear wax to seal those yummy colors!
Prior to arriving at his forever home, I will offer a blessing of health, happiness, and prosperity for you and your loved ones.
